It might have been

Trousers: ASOS | Shirt: New Look | Shoes: New Look
Gozo right now has the perfect weather, not too cold and definitely not hot! So wearing trousers and some long sleeved things are now no longer out of the question for me. Oh how I like this weather!
So when my boyfriend and I were going out, I just KNEW I wanted to wear these trousers. But then, when it came to the tops I just didn't want something bright.. but I knew I didn't want something neutral either. First thing that popped out to me was this beautiful plaid shirt that I just do not wear often enough. I'm definitely planning on wearing it quite a bit this year in a few different ways. One way is to wear it with this particular jumper from New Look. So maybe you'll see a few different posts with this plaid shirt..and if I do manage, I just might do a whole post dedicated to how to wear plaid shirt and post a collab of those outfits. Such a dreamer.

Wish us all Goodnight

Jumper: Miss Selfridge | Skirt: H&M | Necklace: New Look | Shoes: New Look
Can I just say, I'm so relieved it's Autumn and the weather in Malta is actually starting to reflect that it's Autumn if only for a little while? So what do I do on a cool day... I wear my new fluffy blue jumper is what I do! It is so soft and cosy but I ended up feeling like a really posh business woman for some reason. I do like that feeling though if I'm honest. AND, this necklace. I bought it on sale from New Look, and I keep wearing it! It's grungy but very pretty at the same time and I can't resist it so I'm currently wearing it with quite a few outfits that I own!

Dating Joe Black

Catrice Liquid Liner - 01 Dating Joe Black
I have been liquid eyeliner less for well over 2 months now. I've been going out with just a bit of eyeshadow, mascara and concealer to work and to be completely honest I did not feel like my self. Winged eyeliner is my thing. I had my gel eyeliner from Essence to cover me for the weekends, but it takes way too long to apply at 5:15am in the morning. So I finally went and bought eyeliner. Funnily enough, this was on my Catrice wishlist, but I forgot about it, and whilst I was swatching a total of 7 liquid eyeliners, I thought this one looked best.
The packaging looks a bit deceiving as it looks as if its a felt tip eyeliner pen. But it isn't. It's actually a regular liquid eyeliner.
When I look for a liquid eyeliner, I first take a look at the 'wand'. What I've seen when I was having a browse at the liquid eyeliner was that liquid eyeliners generally have a nib, a brush, or a thin plastic thing. I personally prefer a felt tip nib. This eyeliner has one of the most precise felt tip brush I have ever tried in my life. I swatched it on my hand and got a good line, and when I tried it on my eyes when I got home, not only did it line my eyes perfectly, but I got the wings to look equal! It took me less than 2 minutes to apply the liner on both eyes including the wings. It's ridiculously precise.
The second thing I look for in a liquid eyeliner is the pigmentation. I like a really black liquid eyeliner. I don't want it grey-ish, or slightly faded or jagged. With all three of those you need to go over your liner and risk messing it up. The pigmentation of this is amazing. First application of this and you get the full pigmentation. It also dries as a matte black which I personally really like.
Third thing that I look for is how long it takes to dry. This didn't take long to dry at all. It didn't dry instantly, it took about 15-30 seconds for it to dry completely which is good enough for me. Also, it didn't smear on the rest of my lid whilst I was apply the wing which is NICE.
This is also available in the waterproof version, but I ended up getting this version as the waterproof didn't have the best pigmentation.

What's past is prologue

Playsuit: H&M | Necklace: New Look | Shoes: New Look
I finally feel like I've gained my body confidence back. I used to really not feel comfortable in my own body, I had put on a few kgs of weight on, and because I'm only 5"4, the 3 kgs I had put on had shown very easily. I've since shed those 3 kgs, met my first goal weight, and am almost to meeting up to my second goal weight. I'm not sure it'll be my last goal weight, but we'll see. I started eating more food, and more frequently. I used to skip meals all the time, drank tea up to 12 times a day and even though I exercised, my metabolism had slowed down and whatever I ate, it added in weight. So I actually started eating more and frequently (I always ate healthily) and lost weight that way.
This playsuit has a chevron print on it, which I love, it's grey, has black detailing and I love it! It's loose fitting too, so it's really nice to wear on a really hot day. I think this could be quite easily dressed up with a black blazer, or a leather jacket for a night out.. especially if you also pair it up with red lipstick.. or any other colour of your liking. We all know I have a penchant for red lipsticks.

As you want

Rimmel - As You Want Victoria
This is one of the lipsticks that I would tell myself, oh I'll buy it next time.. and then next time never comes. That is until I had to go buy myself some new nail polish bases from Rimmel, saw this lipstick and thought, you're going to be mine. This is from the moisture renew line, and I already had a lipstick from that line which is Nude Delight. The formula has supposedly changed now, so the lipsticks should be a lot more moisturizing than before.
Before anything, let's talk about the colour. It is a gorgeous berry pink colour. It's almost red, but not quite. Just think of it as a dark berry pink colour that's slightly bright at the same time. Such a weird description, but that's the best I can describe it as!
This lipstick is RIDICULOUSLY creamy and slightly thick. It glides on very smoothly. I kind of think that it is as a plus and a minus. Plus because it definitely won't sink into the lines of your lips or any dry patches that might be there and does feel very moisturizing. Minus because you can very easily make mistakes because of its smoothness and as the day/night goes on it can go all over the place if you're not careful. Overall though, I do really like the fact that it's that creamy and actually quite hydrating.
The pigmentation of this lipstick is unreal. Usually when you have a lipstick which is creamy, you need to go over the application again to get the full colour. Not this one. The second I swatched it on my hand, I didn't even need to go over it. That was the entire full pigmentation. It took a single swatch to get it to the full pigmentation.
One of my main worries with this lipstick was that it would go all over the place. So I thought hmm, what if I had to dab my lips on tissue..will the colour go? So I tried it on, and I got this amazing matte lipstick. Still moisturizing, still extremely pigmented. Personally, I think that I will go for this matte look rather than the creamy look, and here's why. Because it is so creamy, there's a HUGE chance that the majority of the lipstick will not stay on your lips, but transfer everywhere else. The matte will give you the same exact colour, but with more staying power and without the risk of having your lips looking like a mess.

The wedding bells

Dress: Love | Shoes: New Look | Earrings: New Look | Necklace: MVintage
On the 14th of August, two of Ismael's best friends got married... when you see people you actually know get married, and not some cousin that you haven't seen in god knows how long, it means a lot more. It's not just a party that you're attending, it's a ceremony celebrating their love and them as a couple. Needless to say I cried.. quite a bit.
The dress was a bit of a daring choice for me, I don't normally go out bra-less, or wear a dress with this much of a low cut, but I fell in love with it, bought it and decided to hell with it.. getting out of my comfort zone. I didn't regret it. This dress is absolutely beautiful, and photographs really well.
The only thing that I wasn't too comfortable with was my hair. Here's why. I wanted a messy french twist, with a bit of a poof and a messy front parting with a few hairs infront of my face..BUT it kind of isn't possible to do with my hair. I have A LOT of hair and it's long. So that makes it quite heavy. My hairdresser tried her best to do it the way I would have liked it, but it just isn't possible. I was pleased with it, it looked lovely and it looked quite posh, but it just wasn't what I was expecting. I was expecting her to tell me that it wouldn't be possible to have it hold up, but she managed to make it hold up! Pretty damn proud of my hairdresser, let me tell you.

Back to the Basics

For anyone who knows me, I am a list maker. I create lists for just about anything, and I mainly do it to sort out any confusion in my head. Seeing it all written down, makes it more manageable, and there are few things that beat the satisfaction I get when I cross things off lists, especially to buy lists!
The other day, I was thinking about what basics you would need in your wardrobe and started to write a list as you do. Then I sorted it out and added more things to it, and saw that it was, at least in my eyes, perfect.

And that, is what I think should be in your basics wardrobe! If you think that this list is for you, feel free to print it out and use it as a reference. What do you think should be in a basics wardrobe?

With clothes at the top of my list

As promised on my facebook page I've got a New Look haul to show you. I hadn't been liking New Look that much for probably a little over a year, so to actually find things that I really like and want to buy has been a bit surprising! New Look actually has quite a bit of nice stuff in stock in and I keep having a browse on their website to see if I can find anything new that I want!
Monochrome Diamond Stripe Short Sleeve Jumper
Black and White Stripe Wide V Neck T-Shirt
Black Short Sleeve Slouchy Pocket T-Shirt
Black Burnout Racer Front Vest
White Stripe Racer Vest
Cream Embroidered Lace Insert Shell Top
White Ethnic Bead Embellished Front Vest
I'm hoping to show the white stripe racer vest in an outfit some time very soon.. the material is insanely soft, and even though it's vest top and looks quite casual on the screen, when you wear it with, it looks pretty sleek. The embroidered lace shell top and the white ethnic embellished vest need to be adjusted big time. They're a size 8 and 10 respectively and they fit so BIG. New Look are a bit funny with their sizes, and a size 8 can fit insanely big at times. I got the size 10 because that was the smallest size in stock so I thought, might as well get it and then have it adjusted. Thank goodness for my mama!

Break Free

Top: New Look | Skirt: ASOS | Shoes: New Look | Necklace: Primark
Long time, no outfit post. I don't even know where to begin.. Blog layout first. So my previous layout, which I now can't remember what it looked like, was beginning to really irritate me, so I just thought I'm giving myself two days for it to be done, and this time after FOUR years of blogging, I'm going to have a header. Within a few hours, my blog design was essentially done, all I had left was the header and my profile picture. So all I needed was to find the perfect font for my header, and I thought I'd be done. But nope, whilst I was and still am in love with the font for my FIRST HEADER, it needed a little somethin' somethin'. So I thought I would do some sort of fancy underline, but what? At first I tried out a peacock feather, and then later some other feathers but there was no way in hell they were going to work. I wanted to find some sort of swirl, which I couldn't find online. So my boyfriend drew a simple swirl on his iPad, sent it to me via e-mail. Loaded the header onto photoshop, that swirl onto photoshop, duplicated it etc etc, and the header was born. I'm super proud of it, and pleased. I really am pleased with this layout!
Shoes wise, those shoes gave me the blisters from hell. So the day I wore them I was fine, walked with them, no pain. The next day I wore them, and I went to work with them. I hadn't walked 2 minutes with them, no joke, that I didn't feel  pain on the back of my ankles. But stayed with them all day, and walking with them back home, I was hobbling like an old lady. The blisters were not just popped, they were SORE AS HECK. Why?

We're only happy when we're shopping

I have gone a little crazy this month when it comes to shopping. I've placed 4 ASOS orders as well as buying a few things from e-bay and such. I hadn't gone shopping or placed orders in absolutely ages. I was so drowned in school assignments, that I didn't have the time or the energy to actually have a little browse online, even when I desperately wanted to. But now I've completed my Higher National Diploma, and I'm now going onto my degree year. I actually managed to get a Summer placement programming job, which I'm super excited for, if not just a tiny bit scared! But, now that I'm actually going to be having a job, I can actually get started with a few things that I've been wanting to do for a while, including... Shopping! Links will be provided under each image!
So ASOS order first. ASOS actually have a 70% off sale at the moment, and I'm absolutely loving it.

Pretty Twisted Floral Shorts €35.21 [I actually bought these on ebay]
From Missguided, I only bought one item as well. It was the very first time I was placing an order on Missguided, so I didn't know what the quality of the clothing was going to be like at all. The quality is pretty decent, and there's quite a list of things I want from there now. ALSO, there's a sale going on their website if you're interested!
