Full of ignorance, fools in disguise

Top: Peacocks | Skirt: Ebay (DIY) | Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell | Jacket: New Look | Hat: Tally Weijl
Wow! Where have I been?! If you follow my facebook page (which you can do so right here: HINT HINT) you'll know that I haven't been blogging because I haven't been feeling myself. I'm in my last year at school which means I'm currently going through hell and back and wondering how on earth I'm going to keep up. For the first time in a few weeks, my boyfriend and I went out in the afternoon, into the sun and just relaxed.. I woke up in the morning thinking about what outfit I was going to wear for the day, and hey presto fabulous outfit at the ready. Honestly, I felt amazing in this outfit.. I haven't worn my floppy hat in maybe 2 years, so it was a nice welcome to be wearing it again.
For those of you who don't know, I am slightly obsessed with animal rights and the way they should be treated. There are people who enjoy torturing animals out there and really just don't care for their suffering. Then there are people like me who are aghast knowing that this happens and governments don't really care because they're animals and not human. People like me need to stand up and say that this is not right, and it's unacceptable. Either treat animals rightly, or I'll boycott any products you produce. So one of the main petitions out there that concerns anyone who's interested in fashion is the way angora rabbits are treated. Here's a little detail for you, their fur is RIPPED, not shaved, but RIPPED off their skin, and then they're thrown into their dirty, small cage with sore bloody skin. Because so many people have signed petitions and informing companies such as H&M and ASOS that this is not ethical and is unacceptable, they have stopped accepting angora based products and removed them from their stores and website. Please do not think for one minute that what the products made from animals are done in any way nice. Stand up for their rights.

We won't feel alone

Jumper: New Look | Top: Miss Selfridge Skirt: H&M Shoes: New Look
I absolutely love this jumper, but I sometimes find it hard pairing it with what I want. BUT, I know I really liked it paired with my 'moustache' top, and I really felt like wearing this combination.. so I decided to try it out with my black bodycon skirt.. I loved it. The only thing about this jumper and this skirt combo is, that it makes my stomach and my butt look bigger than they actually are. Look at that bulk.. it looks like I've eaten a 3 course meal and then some! No matter how many times I re-positioned that jumper, it went back to its bulky self. WHY. And it's so pretty too!
These pictures were taken on my last day as a 20 year old! I became a 21 year old yesterday, so now I am officially older I can look back on my pictures and think, AH, I was so young back in the day, haha! Actually, I'm not one too care so much about my age to be completely honest so I'm good :3

Lace up my boots

Shirt: New Look Top: New Look Skirt: Primark Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
Two weeks ago was basically the last day of Summer for me.. even though its been Autumn for over a month, it still feels quite hot here in Malta/Gozo. It's always like this here anyway.. we never really have an actual Autumn, except for a random day here and there, but that's okay. It felt like the end of Summer for me because my favourite bar was closing for the season.. until Spring/Summer comes around again. +39 is the bar I frequented ALL the time in Summer, and it has the most amazing pizza ever, so I'm going to miss the place BIG TIME.
I have also been dying to wear this outfit ever since I thought of it in the middle of Summer. I was craving some cold weather and started dreaming about a transitional outfit from Summer to Autumn and this is what mainly stuck out in my mind. I finally got the chance!
ALSO, my birthday is in a week's time! Believe it or not, I still get really excited for my birthday or anyone I know's birthday :D It's such a beautiful celebration

Leaving nothing but ashes below

Top: New Look Skirt: New Look Shoes: New Look
I was invited to the Philip Kingsley brand launch that's finally landing in Malta! I actually have a couple of things that I want to get from Philip Kingsley.. not all of them for me! When I see products that can improve your well being, I never, ever think about myself.. I usually think what the people I love need and what I can get them! Can't wait until the products arrive in December in a variety of Salons in Malta.. have to tell you all about the event and brand in my Philip Kingsley post!
Anyhow, I am seriously loving tartan.. not just on clothing, but also for bedding.. It looks so cosy and grunge-y. I love cute outfits, but things that have an edge to them feel like home, and feel GOOD. This bodycon tartan skirt is pretty damn snazzeh.. and the fact that it can be dressed up or down is pretty nice too :3. If it was colder, I'd actually wear it with my brand new Primark fluffy cardigan that EVERY blogger is talking about!
I also didn't have time to wash my hair, so I braided it to the side and loved it. I did this a couple of weeks ago as well, and it felt really nice so here it is again!

The passing hours

Top: Shana Skirt: ASOS Cardigan: Primark Earrings: ASOS Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
I have been LUSTING, and yes I mean lusting, after this cardigan ever since I saw it. I had quite the battle to get it, and I obsessed continuously about it until I received it a month later after I bought it. So let me tell you this, THIS CARDIGAN WAS WORTH IT. It is so FLUFFY and cosy, and everything a cardigan should be. I love the texture, I love the warmth, I love the shaggy look of it... wow. Obsessed. New Look have a very similar one to this in store right now, in black and a light pink. I'm really tempted by the light pink as well to be completely honest. It's coming with me to London, and it's going to see me through ANY cold Winter throws at me! Oh yeah, I'm ready for you Winter... whenever you decide to show up.
Because it's just a bit cool in the evenings, I decided that I can still wear my crop mesh top whilst I can.. although I might try wearing this top under a blouse or two. And with it comes my favourite skirt.. so whilst I'm wearing so many favourite things I might as well just throw in my favourite shoes, earrings and cardigan, right? YES. I felt amazing.

Used to be a Pearl

I have another review for MUA, this time on their single, pearl eyeshadows which cost £1. These eyeshadows have plastic packaging, that unlike the palettes don't seem to be very sturdy at all. The packaging is large and bulky with the lid of the packaging have a round top. This makes it difficult to store the eyeshadows as they can't be stored on top of each other really. As I lack space where to store my make up, I'm probably going to be depotting these and putting them in a palette of sorts.
The eyeshadows each have 2g worth of product. They also have the shade number and type on the back of the eyeshadows. One thing that's really annoying for me personally is that they have tape to 'seal' the packaging which feels so unhygenic! When you remove the tape, there's a residue which takes time to remove. So yeah, it's annoying.
Each of the swatches below have only one swipe, and are applied dry and photographed in natural light as all my swatches are.
Shade 4
- Not very pigmented
- Needs at least 2 swipes for good colour payoff
- Colour looks darker in the packaging
- When swatched, the colour looks more lilac
- Gritty feel
- Pearl
Shade 7
- Not very pigmented
- Colour looks darker in the packaging which is dissappointing
- Feels quite smooth!
- Pearl
Shade 9
- Purple with blue undertones
- Colour looks darker in the packaging
- Not very pigmented
- Needs at least 2 swipes for good colour payoff
- Very smooth
Shade 10
- Colour same as packaging
- Very pigmented
- Feels quite smooth
- Not a pearl eyeshadow
Shade 12
- Dark gray with green undertones
- Duochrome
- Very pigmented
- Feels quite smooth
- Pearl
- Love this colour, it's unique in my personal collection!
Shade 13
- Not very pigmented
- Very dark purple
- Feels quite gritty
- Not a pearl eyeshadow
Shade 14
- Very dark green
- Quite pigmented
- Smooth eyeshadow
- Not a pearl
Shade 15
- Very dark gray, almost black
- Quite pigmented
- Smooth eyeshadow
- Not a pearl
L-R: 4, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13,. 14, 15Now these eyeshadows seem to be more of a hit & miss rather than anything. Not all of them are pearl, some of them seem to be a matte even though they're from their pearl range! Most of them were also not very pigmented and needed two swipes so I could get the colour I desired. Although these are only £1, I wouldn't say it's worth it. I'd much rather get a palette for £4!

In the city of pictures

Dress: H&M Shoes: New Look Bracelets: Stradivarius
First, I absolutely love this dress. It is super flattering. Second, I took the outfit pictures last Sunday, and I'm posting this a week later. Talk about not having time! Yes, school is taking over my life, but you know what's really taking over my life? Travelling. I remember telling friends of mine who were travelling daily how on earth they kept up with school stuff knowing they were wasting so much time travelling.. now I know. You just do it the second you get home, and there's no time for you to relax. Then, when the weekend comes, all you want to do is sleep. But because you're so used to getting up early, you get up early. And when night comes, because you're used to sleeping earlier, you get tired easily. Just until things settle I suppose!
Halloween is nearly here, so I'm thinking about doing some looks and posting them on here.. Just a little somethin' somethin' ya know!

Mighty Fine Predicament

Top: New Look Skirt: Primark
I feel like I haven't posted in quite a while, and probably I haven't but I do have my excuses! School has officially started. I'm with my friends, I've got a good timetable until now *fingers crossed*, and so far I'm quite happy with my lecturers! I've already mentioned that I hate moving back to Malta in my previous post and because of my amazingly good timetable *fingers crossed again* I'm travelling nearly every single day to Gozo. Now, some might call me crazy. Why wake up 2 hours earlier in Gozo when you could sleep those 2 hours in Malta? Why travel every single day when you could just travel once a week? Here's my answer. Gozo is my home. I miss my home. I'm quite close with my mum and I'd miss not being able to just have a mug of tea with her infront of the t.v. or just being able to talk face to face..Speaking on the phone just doesn't do it for me, especially since I hate chatting on the phone. If I take ages speaking on the phone, it's usually because I'm that lonely! I have my boyfriend here in Gozo, and in Summer we met almost every single day. It would be hard to transition to just meeting 2 days a week after nearly seeing each other every single day! Plus, I don't want to cope with that desperate feeling that I used to get in the weekend to meet up at a certain time and be together all the time so I'd make up for the time missed out during the week. I miss my Gozo bed. Maybe it's just me being fussy, or maybe it really isn't that comfortable, but sleeping in Malta means barely any sleep because that bed is just not comfortable. It's not mine. I can't snuggle down in it, like I can with my Gozo one. My Malta neighbours are all LOUD. And they bang doors, yell at each other at all hours and it just drives me insane. My Gozo bed is my bed. I also greatly miss my cat. I absolutely LOVE and adore my cat with all my heart. And with his gorgeous face, how can I not? Yes, I'll probably be the crazy cat lady when I'm older, and I'm fine with that. I'd miss my cat greatly if I had to settle in Malta. Enough reasons? I think so.
So with all that travelling, I'm significantly reducing my time online and my time to take outfit pictures sadly. With Summer over, and the sunlight decreasing, I need to be really lucky to take my outfit pictures during the week. The weekends should be good, so we'll see!

Your story is just where you left it

Top: Shana Skirt: Mum Shoes: New Look
So I've been trying to buy a white lace crop top for a while now, but the only ones that I found were at Topshop, and we all know Topshop can be more than a little over priced! So hey presto, yet another Topshop dupe at Shana! I actually found a mesh top at Shana that's a dupe for Topshop at a fraction of the price! Check out that outfit post here. So couldn't resist buying it and wearing it. I'm hoping I'll be able to wear it in the slightly colder months with a maxi skirt and denim jacket for a more 70's vibe or a leather jacket for a bit of an edge.. yeah. I love dreaming about how to wear particular pieces of clothing and the day that goes along with them. Am I the only that does this or are there more people who do this?
I've been a bit absent from the blog front now... I'm so stressed out about school starting again next Tuesday. I've no idea how the timetable is going to be.. but I'm so thankful that I'm with my friends again in class. I always feel so vulnerable when school is about to start and I don't tend to show it. Moving away from home is hard, especially when you're moving to the next island.. 3 hours travelling time just to get to the apartment, and then from school to come back to Gozo.. I don't even want to think about it. I hate moving back to the apartment.. I honestly really, really do.

I've been fading away

Dress: Primark Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
I very rarely wear lace dresses. Don't get me wrong, I love lace dresses, but I always think I'm either going to look childish in them or way too country. I'd really love to own a white lace dress, just not sure what kind of lace dress.. Should it be sleeveless or should it have sleeves? High cut at the neck, or slightly low cut? Do I get it in a corset style dress, or more of a plain simple lace dress? It's so complicated for me, that I'd rather just not buy one at all.. for now.
The second I saw this dress, I knew I had to have it. It was listed as a mauve colour, which it definitely is not! It's a gorgeous light indigo colour and I don't have ANYTHING remotely close to it in my wardrobe!
My boyfriend and I had a dinner date two Friday's ago and this is what I wore. We haven't had a dinner date in a while so it's always exciting when we actually go get ourselves dinner and hang out. I get really excited and just try not to show it! It's nice to just get out of the house and hang out at the same time! I wouldn't want to do it ALL the time, just the once in a while. This Saturday we had a really nice picnic with the most amazing view, so yup, exciting times indeed.
