Christmas time, mistletoe and wine

My favourite time of the year is here! I love the Christmas season and I always have. My mum and I have a lot of little Christmas traditions that we do every year, one which includes making the mince pies together!! Christmas is just a very positive and happy time of year for me... I love all the decorations, the cold, the baking, the snuggling up, watching movies ah!
I thought I would do a different post today, and show you some of our Christmas decorations, including my favourite which is the Christmas tree that I decorate each and every year!
Merry Christmas to all of you. I hope you enjoy it in your own ways, and whatever makes you happy!

I gotta reason

Jumper: Pimkie | Skirt: H&M Shoes: New Look Necklace: New Look Bracelets: Peacocks
Apologies for the lack of outfit pictures! My boyfriend is the one that usually takes my pictures and we've both been pretty busy. The only time he can take my outfit pictures is during the weekend, as I live on another island during the week. Awesome right? By the time we meet up, it's usually dark and you know the drill...
I've also been pretty busy these couple of weeks, and I have NEWS. I quit my job at McDonalds. I've been working there for 2 years and a half, and now... I no longer work there which is strange. I quit because school has always been my number 1 priority in my life. I'm studying to be a programmer, and I'd like to be a good one, not just for the sake of getting a job, but for my own personal sake. Programming can be very nice, and strangely calming but irritating at the same time. It doesn't make much sense, but trust me I know what I'm talking about. I also quit because after 2 years of living in Malta, and me only having 2 days a week for me to relax in heavenly Gozo, and not being able to see my family properly, or relax at home, not being able to just hang out with my mum, or having to meet up with my boyfriend for a couple of hours and constantly looking at the time so I wouldn't be late. Then there was the tensing up for the Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve shifts... the Carnival shifts. Just a total nightmare. Don't get me wrong, I did to some extent like working there. It was a very organized place, the staff were great to be with and I always had something to do. But I missed my free time. My ability to relax, and just not do anything for the sake of not doing anything. I missed that. I missed by own personal time in Gozo, where I could just do whatever.
Right so onto the outfit. This H&M skirt is probably one of my favorite skirts in my wardrobe right now. I've got an actual black pencil skirt from ASOS, but I'd prefer to leave it for when I actually start a job as a programmer. I think I need to shorten that pencil skirt a little bit more though, I be a short person! As for that jumper, I absolutely adore it.
Also, excuse the no make up face. I barely slept, slept at le boyfriend's and couldn't be fucked to do anything else except make... Vanilla Muffins with Streusel Topping! And then we went out immediately afterwards so yeah :P. Not exactly my best look here, but I love this outfit for going out to dinner really and I would wear different shoes. Those are my school shoes, best left for school and every day things!
Hopefully will be taking a couple of outfit pictures this weekend so might have something to post next week :) Tomorrow I'm going to start Christmas Decorating with my mum!! I CAN NOT WAIT!! Mum and I look forward to this time of year and decorating is an amazing task we both take on quite willingly! Oh Christmas time, I love you!

A shadow waits behinds us

Dress: Primark | Shoes: Peacocks | Necklace: Ebay
I've been suffering from low blood pressure since Thursday 08/11/12, and it still hasn't gone up [It's up now!]. The oddest feeling about it is that your legs do not feel as if they belong to you.. they act as if they are jelly, wobbling about. Very weird. You know what else is weird? The fact that I have low blood pressure. I like salt. When I cook anything, salt is anyone's best friend. And I like to season things well. Boiling pasta, good pinch of salt in there. Cooking sauce? Good pinch of salt in there. Before I eat? Good pinch of salt in there. Get my drift? That's a lot of salt. So I have no idea why I would have low blood pressure, but my mum used to suffer from it when she was younger, so I probably inherited it. Yay. Well it's better than high blood pressure! Will not complain.
Let me talk about my amazeballs shoes. I have been looking for this EXACT pair of shoes and whilst browsing the shops one day with my boyfriend, I find them. My size... was not found. D: How could they! So I went to ask a friend who's a sales girl there, and she called the other island Malta in Valletta if they had my size, and THEY DID. I bought them, love them. The amount of outfits I will be wearing these with will be never ending. I was going to wear this with my birthday outfit, my birthday was on the 18th, and I'm now officially 20 years old!

You're shining like a glow stick

Okay, this is probably my go to lipstick. It is EXTREMELY difficult to pick any other lipstick these days. Catrice have launched a lipstick called Ultimate Lip Glow. L'Oreal had launched a Lip Glow lipstick prior to this, but having never tried it I can't compare the two products. All I know is that this is a lipstick I would not mind owning for the rest of my life.
I have moods where I don't feel like a full on lipstick, I just want a subtle color. This fits my criteria perfectly. Catrice also claim that one color fits all, and I'm going to agree with this. It doesn't look the exact same on everybody. Would I recommend that you go ahead and buy this lipstick? YES. Why? Because asides the fact that it is amazeballs, it is also inexpensive, it's a NEON LIPSTICK, and it is great for anyone who's either starting out with lipsticks or wants just a subtle color, for work/school or everyday purposes U_U. Go out, get yourself this lipstick and feel amazing.

When all that you live on is lipgloss

I am not a fan of lipgloss, at all. I've never been. Their sticky texture, and the way your hair sticks to it, feels like it's all over the place.. Gah its a horrible invention. When I went to the Catrice & Essence event back in Summer and I got lipglosses in my goodie bag, I didn't know whether I should feel pleased or just give them away to someone. The only reason I haven't yet is because these colors are just so beautiful!

Contrary to the many lipglosses I've tried including ones from Revlon (Remember everyone raving about Peach Petal?) and I hated ALL of them, these are okay-ish! Firstly, they smell wonderful. Especially Back From Vacation, it smells like vanilla! YUM. The pigmentation is definitely not that of an ordinary lipgloss where you'd just get a slight tint of the color. They also take a while until they're sticky and make me just want to wipe them off. Whilst they're still not something I'd reach for, I would consider them every once in a while. That coming from a lipgloss hater is something! Is there a beauty product that you hate? What is it and why?

Kiss Kiss Fall In Love

A lot of people are fans of chapsticks/lip balms and I'm one of those people, even though I prefer lipsticks over lip balms. Essence recently released 4 Lip balms called Kiss Care Love, in fruity scents that smell wonderful. They give off the slightest colour, and are extremely moisturising  They also last for a good hour, which in terms of lip products isn't much, but for a lip balm it is for me. I love wearing these for work, because my lips end up becoming dry in the airconditioning, and just applying these make them feel moisturised. They can be just a tad bit sticky, but not extremely so.
My favourite out of the 4 are 3.Fruity Licious and 4.Caribbean Sunrise. They're more moisturising than the other two, and whilst I wish 1.Fruit Crush was a little more moisturising, it sadly isn't. I would rate these 4/5. They are inexpensive, give off a good amount of product without having to go over your lips a good few times, and seem to last you for ages :)

Play with Fire

Skirt turned to Dress - Mum | Cardigan: Piazza Italia | Necklace: Primark | Shoes: New Look | Lipstick - Catrice - Tell me a Berrytale
My mum is the best friend I could ever have. Why? Because she's been there through everything with me. That woman is so kind, she's the best mum I could ever have hoped to have. So whenever she takes the time out of her day to make me something.. even though I was meant to have learnt this myself, she goes out of her way to make me things. The best part is when I get to wear them and her face lights up. I style things in my own little ways, it's what makes a piece of clothing unique. This is also unique to me, however, because my mum made it for me. It's a maxi skirt, but when she first gave it to me so I could try it on to see if it looked okay, I also thought it would look good as a dress. She then asked me whether I wanted it as a dress or a skirt, then showed her how I could turn it into a dress without changing the fact that it is indeed a maxi skirt.
It is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for everything Mum :)
The material is absolutely beautiful, the colours are amazing, and I just feel special wearing this. It's unique. And this is why clothes make me happy. They're a little something which help define us.

Dance with me on plastic tears

Dress: H&M | Bow: New Look | Shoes: New Look
I've been meaning to post about this outfit for er well over 2 weeks. I'm good at procrastinating. This dress is absolutely beautiful. It's got a pin up style to it, and someday I'm going to do my hair in victory rolls again and wear this dress. I can't wait until the weather turns cold so I can wear jumpers over it... particularly a navy jumper wearing red lipstick, and drinking tea inside a cute cafe... I can dream.. and make it reality. I just have to wait for the weather to turn cold!
